A few words from our General Manager
This year is off to a rapid start! Our schedule is filling up fast and we are working to get equipment done more quickly than ever. We are nearing capacity for most months through August. There are some open spots for single-piece orders. If you need equipment quickly, please contact our sales group to see what we can do to meet your requirements. We are working to increase capacity and may be able to add more open slots to the schedule.
2024 Industry Insights
I read some articles indicating that 2024 was going to be a busy year for the housing industry and some of the economic indicators we monitor are moving in a favorable direction. It feels like this is going to be an exciting and interesting year as more builders plan to increase their output and quality by moving to offsite construction. When visiting our customers’ facilities, I am always impressed with how many linear feet of walls they can produce. I’m also impressed with the amount of value-added items that are being added to the walls in the factory. I enjoy seeing the changes brought about by new technology.
New Team Talent
With the growth of Panels Plus and the pending retirement of Tim Kaasa (Regional Sales Manager), we have recently added two new Regional Sales Managers. Zach Wynia and Mike Hested will be training with Tim for several months and you are likely to see one of them if Tim has a visit scheduled at your facility. These gentlemen have experience in the building industry and are quickly learning the details of the wall panel industry. Please join me in welcoming them to the Panels Plus team, I’m convinced that they will be excellent additions to the Panels Plus team.
Update: Platinum Series Automated Sheathing Station
The Platinum Series Automated Sheathing Station continues to be popular among our customers. We continue to work with MiTek in customizing our software to best match our customers’ specific requirements. As we work through customer requests, we are determining which requests should become standard machine features in our software and working with MiTek to ensure that we have the necessary output data to support those features. For this reason, it is important that you discuss your current operation, planned operation, and design software in detail with your regional sales manager.
Product Developments
The R&D team continues to work on the next product offerings for Panels Plus. I expect to have a prototype in place for one of these new product offerings in about two months and will share more information in my next newsletter. This project comes from the most requested item during the 2023 BCMC tradeshow. It uses the latest technology to improve on existing equipment and will be another timesaver that will improve quality and safety at the same time.
